KARENA DE PERTHUIS is a Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts at Western Sydney University and co-editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Fashion Studies. Her research explores the intersection of fashion, media and the body. Recent publications include work on fashion photography, fashion performativity and fashion utopias Instagram influencers and Tilda Swinton. She is currently working on a monograph, titled The Fashionable Ideal: Undoing Bodies and images in Fashion (Bloomsbury, 2024).
