Dr Caelli Jo Brooker is a designer, artist, lecturer, and the Research Capability Development Coordinator at the Wollotuka Institute for Indigenous Education and Research at the University of Newcastle. She coordinates senior courses that prepare future researchers for ethical Aboriginal community engagement and focus on Indigenous research methodologies and agendas. As an interdisciplinary academic and creative professional who has worked extensively across tertiary education and the creative and cultural industries, she engages in multiple forms of creative practice, education, and collaboration as they relate to materiality, visuality, identity and culture. As an advocate for visual, participatory, sustainable, and culturally responsive approaches, her expertise is applied to the creative direction, design, and presentation of diverse research outcomes.
