Lisa Waup is a mixed-cultural First Nations artist and curator, born in Narrm (Melbourne), whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including weaving, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion, and digital art. With a deep connection to the symbolic power of materials, her work reflects her personal experiences, family history, Country, and broader historical narratives. Her work has featured in exhibitions including Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne (2023); and A Lightness of spirit is the measure of happiness at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne (2018). She is represented in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria among others and she is a Lecturer in Drawing and Printmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts.
