Stephen Goddard is Design Domain Coordinator and a Lecturer at UNSW Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, School of Art & Design. For over thirty years he has worked with many of Australia’s largest cultural institutions on projects as diverse as identities for Sydney Festival 2002-05; book design and exhibition identity for The Pool: Australia’s Exhibition at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2016; and many projects for the Australian Design Centre, JamFactory Adelaide, and MAC / yapang. His most recent curatorial project Happy Objects at the Australian Design Centre (2021-22) explored the stories behind everyday objects and included Window, Cricket Bat, a theatre piece written by Hilary Bell and produced by Griffin Theatre Company as part of Sydney Festival 2022. This year Goddard worked with JamFactory, Adelaide on the design of the book and exhibition New Exuberance: Contemporary Australian Textile Design, which opened in February 2023 and will tour nationally until 2025.
